Description

The VA's intention is to acquire a new condensing and air handling unit to be supplied and installed, IAW The VA's HVAC Design Guide, by contractor to correct the deficiencies in the Physical Therapy and Eye Clinics HVAC system at the Louis A. Johnson VAMC located in Clarksburg WV. Also, the contractor will Demo and dispose of the existing equipment. Contractor shall provide fully functional connection of the building plumbing including all tools, materials, components, labor and supervision for construction to Install one (1) Trane or equivalent 40-ton Direct Expansion Condensing unit and a 12000 CFM air handling unit. (1) Install Trane or equivalent 40-ton DX unit and one (1) 12000 cfm AHU. (2) Provide demolition and proper disposal of the old equipment and refrigerants, all supply and return ductwork revisions at the new air handling unit, a. two (2) new insulated refrigerant line-sets connecting the AHU & dual circuit condensing unit, hot water supply and return to the AHU, and condensate drain piping from the AHU, and crane rental. (3) Contractor shall also include required 410A refrigerant and proper system start-up and, a. Contractor shall provide receipt of all recovered refrigerant to the COR. (4) Supply 480V power with properly sized amp circuit to the condensing unit, and the AHU. To include conduit, wire and termination from Emergency panel to unit. (5) High voltage and control work, will be included in this proposal. (6) This installation would be protected by a one-year parts and labor and an extended (2nd through 5th) year compressor (part only) warranty. It is recommended that the owner secure the services of their controls contractor to install necessary controls interface between the new equipment and existing controls system. All equipment shall integrate with the existing HVAC control system, JCI METASYS. (7) Demo and installation of AHU and condensing unit to be completed over a (1) weekend (Thursday starting @ 1700 - Tuesday @ 0700). With all other work needing completed to be coordinated with the COR. New Electrical conduit, wiring and any roof/curb work can be ran any time before designated weekend of Demo & Installation. (8) Demo may require the removal of bricks around the louver to remove and bring the new AHU inside the building. If this is done the contractor is responsible for removing and re-installing bricks and mortar that have been removed to match existing. (9) This project will require roof work. This will require a Structural analysis of the roof to determine changes to the roof or curb to support the new 40 Ton Condensing Unit. A raised platform maybe required. The contractor will be responsible for having analysis completed and following recommendation of signed changes. (10) Contractor is required to remove all trash and debris for disposal. All scrap that is to be removed will be provided to the COR at the end of the project. (11) Electrical contractor will install all conduit, wiring, disconnect boxes and anything else required for proper installation in accordance with manufactures recommendations. All conduit to be connected with screw type compression fittings. (12) As with all VA construction projects, the GC will ensure all subs abided by the Buy American ACT. (13) GC will be responsible for craning services to include, Lift Plan, Safety Plan and Crane Operators Quals.
