Description | Estimated quantities of the major items of work are summarized as follows: Estimated Item Quantity Base Bid 1. Environmental/Asbestos Abatement 11,800 SF 2. Demolition of Former School Structures, Contents and All Other Debris Whether Above or Below Ground at 51 South Brown Street, Block 151 Lot 15, Final Restorations and Grading to within 6" of Final Surface Grade 1 UN 3. Demolition of Existing Site Improvements and Removal of Impervious Surfaces, 6" to 12" Depth 10,000 SF 4. Backfilling 6" Subbase 240 CY 5. Topsoil to Grade, 6" Thick, Seed, Fertilizer, and Straw 13,000 SF Mulch Restorations 6. AST Removal and Disposal 1 UN 7. UST Removal and Disposal 1 UN 8. Liquid Fuel Removal and Disposal 1,500 GAL Add Alternate A1. Environmental/Asbestos Monitoring, Sampling, and Reporting. . Bids must be made on the standard Proposal form in the manner designated therein providing three (3) complete bid document packets and must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the City of Gloucester, 512 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, NJ 08030 and must be accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit, Consent of Surety, Certified Check, Bid Bond or Cashier's Check drawn to the order of the City of Gloucester for ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid, provided said security need not be more than $20,000.00. All bid guarantees shall be accompanied by an executed consent from an approved surety company, licensed to conduct business in the State of New Jersey, agreeing to furnish the required Performance and Maintenance Bond upon the award of contract. The signed Proposal forms and bid security must be delivered to the place on or before the hour named above. The accepted bidder must sign the contract within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award or forfeit his bid security. Bid securities will be returned to all but the three apparent lowest responsible bidders. All other bid securities will be returned after awarding and signing of the contract and approval of the Contractor's Performance Bond. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1963, Chapter 150 (Prevailing Wage), P.L. 1975, Chapter 127 (Affirmative Action), and P.L. 1977, Chapter 33 requiring corporate bidders to submit the names and addresses of stockholders owning ten percent (10%) or more of their stock, or partnership owning a ten percent (10%) or greater interest in the partnership. Bidders are required to comply with the subcontractor identification requirements of Local Public Contract Law (40A:11-16). The contractor will be required to pay the appropriate prevailing wage rate for each classification of labor including appropriate fringe benefits in accordance with the statutes of the State of New Jersey. The higher of either State or Federal wages and fringe benefits for each classification will be obtained from the wage rate determinations applicable at the time of contract signing. The right is reserved to reject any or all Proposals, in whole or in part, or to make awards to such bidder or bidders, who, in the judgment of the City of Gloucester makes the most advantageous bid and to waive such informalities as may be permitted by law. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond acceptable to the City of Gloucester, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract, in conformity with the requirements of the Contract Documents. The successful bidder will be required, upon final payment, to furnish a General Maintenance Bond acceptable to the City of Gloucester, in conformity with the requirements of the Contract Documents. The Engineer will attempt to respond to request for information (RFI) submissions that are received in writing on or before March 3, 2023. |
