Dowden Court Wastewater Improvements

The Work to be performed includes a new wastewater submersible pump station, gravity sewer lines, and force main on Dowden Court and Miles Drive. Specifically, the improvements include three new manholes, rerouting of three existing sewer service connections at Dowden Court, and approximately 300 linear feet of new/replacement 8-inch and 15-inch PVC gravity sewer lines to convey wastewater to a new pump station located at 1425 Miles Drive. This will require trenching through existing asphalt pavement and soil, including a 40-foot long open cut to cross Old Towne Creek. Upon completion of the open cut work, the bed and banks of Old Towne Creek will be returned to preconstruction elevations and contours, and the 8-inch PVC sewer pipe will be installed in a 16-inch steel casing pipe. The improvements at Miles Drive include a new driveway and pump station site, relocation of an existing sidewalk, 105 linear feet of proposed 6-inch PVC force main, a domestic water service connection, and associated appurtenances. The project also requires temporary bypass pumping for both wastewater and surface water (Old Town Creek) to facilitate construction activities.
