Description | The City of Sarasota is soliciting bids to include all labor, materials, apparatus, scaffolding, testing, tax, overhead, and profit necessary to surface-prepare and coat the North and South Steel Elevated Water Spheroid Tanks (200,000 and 300,000-gallon capacity, respectively) located in the North Tower Park and at the corner of Bee Ridge Road and Tamiami Trail, as described and specified in this Section to provide a complete and functional system ready for use by the City. Only electronic responses will be submitted to the City via the City's online solicitation program. If backup documentation is required, such as plans or concept drawing then those will be submitted as a single hard copy with an electronic copy on a flash drive. Required Vendor Qualifications Drug Free , Scrutinzed, Public Entity Crime Statement, Non-collusive Affidavit Contract Duration One Time Purchase Question Deadline 05/10/2023 at 5:00 PM ET GENERAL 1.01 DESCRIPTION A. Work in this Section includes all labor, material, apparatus, scaffolding, testing, tax, overhead, and profit necessary to surface-prepare and coat the North and South Steel Elevated Water Spheroid Tanks (200,000 and 300,000-gallon capacity, respectively) located in the North Tower Park and at the corner of Bee Ridge Road and Tamiami Trail, as described and specified in this Section to provide a complete and functional system ready for use by the City. B. The Contractor shall only work on only one tank at a time and shall complete all work before starting work on the second tank. The Contractor shall have 60 calendar days to complete (Final Completion) all work for each tank for a total contract duration of 120 days from the Notice to Proceed unless approved otherwise by the City. Each tank shall not be out of service for more than 45 calendar days, excluding the time for the City to drain the tank and fill and disinfect the tank. Thisshall include all work, except warranty items, in accordance with the Contract Documents. C. The Notice to Proceed shall be dated so as to accommodate third party temporary detachment of existing communication facilities in the tank. A period of 30 days will be given to the third parties following the approval of the painting plan. The Contractor shall commence work no later than 10 calendar days after the expiration of the 30 day period, unless approved otherwise by the City. D. The Contractor shall pay liquidated damages of $1,665.00 for each consecutive calendar day completion of the Work is delayed in accordance with Section 00800 - General Provisions. E. Elevated Steel Tank Coating Work Includes: a. Surface preparation and coating of Wet Interior Surfaces b. Surface preparation and coating of Dry Interior Surfaces c. Surface preparation and coating of Exterior tank surfaces F. Existing telecommunication equipment are attached to or suspended from the metal structure. Coordination for painting around these areas is to be done with City staff and with the leased tenants. The Contractor shall provide the City with a time schedule 30 days in advance of all site activities. |
