Wastewater Improvements

Principal items of work at Existing Sewer Lagoon No. 1 includes construction of new chlorine contact chamber, bio-reactor and demolition of existing chlorine contact chamber. Principal items of work near Kemper County High School include construction of new sewer pump station, installation of approximately 410 linear feet of 2 force main, connecting to existing manhole and abandonment of existing aerial creek crossing. The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of unit prices and quantities in the contract documents. Actual work quantities performed shall be based on availability of local funds. The work to be done is generally as shown on the plans. The Mayor and Board of Aiderman hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement all minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. This project is funded by the HUD Community Development Block Grant Program and is a Section 3 covered activity as defined by the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (12 U.S.C. 1701u) (Section 3). Contractors and subcontractors are encouraged to provide to the greatest extent feasible, training, employment and contracting opportunities generated by the expenditure of this assistance to low-and very-low income persons and business concerns owned by low-and very-low income persons or which employ low-and very-low income persons. Certified check or bid bond for five (5%) percent of the total bid, made payable to the Town of DeKalb must accompany each proposal as required by State Law. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposal will not be considered in making the award. The Town of Dekalb reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids to waive informalities.
