Description

**As of August 03, 2022, no bids received, no information for rebid.** The City of Santa Clara, California, a chartered California municipal corporation, (City) hereby gives notice that it will accept bids for construction of the following public work: Benicia Ranch Demolition Project Contract No. 18119 The opening will be in accordance with procedures set forth in Document 00250, Bid Contents, Evaluation, Selection, and Award. Each Bidder shall be required to submit a Statement of Qualifications in accordance with Document 00200, Instructions to Bidders, and Document 00450, Statement of Qualifications for Construction Work. The Work includes but is not limited to demolishing four (4) structures on the City's Benicia Property, constructing a new utility shed, and relocating the front entrance gate. The four (4) structures to be demolished consist of the Caretakers house, a detached garage, the existing well house, and a Milk House. The utility shed will be a prefabricated structure that will be placed at the site of the existing well house. Work for the Benicia Ranch Demolition Project shall reach Substantial Completion within sixty (60) working days from the date when the Contract Time commences to run. The Work shall reach Final Completion within ninety (90) working days from the date when the Contract Time commences to run. See Document 00050, References and Definitions, for definitions of Substantial Completion and Final Completion. REQUIRED CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE(S). A California "C-21 Building Moving/ Demolition" contractor's license is required to bid this contract. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract. REQUIRED CONTRACTOR AND SUBCONTRACTOR'S REGISTRATION. The Bidder and subcontractor(s) must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposed only under Labor Code Section 1771.1(a)]. The Bidder or subcontractor(s) may not be awarded the Contract unless registered as noted above. PREVAILING WAGE LAWS. The successful Bidder must comply with all prevailing wage laws applicable to the Project, and related requirements contained in the Contract Documents. This Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Each Contractor and every sub-tier Subcontractor will be required to submit certified payrolls and labor compliance documentations electronically via the software LCPtracker. Contractor shall cause all subcontracts to include the provision that all Subcontractors submit certified payrolls and labor compliance documentation electronically via LCPtracker. Electronic submission will be a web-based system, accessed on the World Wide Web via a web browser. Each Contractor user will be given a Log-On identification and password with access to the City's reporting system. Access shall be coordinated by a City representative. INSTRUCTIONS. Bidders shall refer to Document 00200, Instructions to Bidders, for required documents and items to be submitted in sealed envelopes for deposit into the Bid box, located at the City Clerk's office, and applicable times for submission. SUBSTITUTIONS OF SECURITIES. City will permit the successful Bidder to substitute securities for retention monies withheld to ensure performance of Contract, as set forth in Document 00680, Escrow Agreement for Security Deposits in Lieu of Retention, in accordance with California Public Contract Code, Section 22300. By this reference, Document 00680, Escrow Agreement for Security Deposits in Lieu of Retention, is incorporated in full in this Document 00100, Notice Inviting Bids. Bidders are solely responsible for the cost of preparing their Bids. RESERVATION OF RIGHTS. City specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all Bids, or re-bid, or to waive inconsequential deviations from Bid requirements not involving time, price, or quality of the Work. Q & A deadline: Jul 22, 2022 6:00:00 PM EDT A. Work comprises all required work, as shown on the plans and described in these specifications, located on City's Benicia Property B. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, services, permits, temporary controls and construction facilities, and all general conditions, seismic requirements, general requirements and incidentals required to complete the Work in its entirety as described in the Contract Documents. The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: 1. Building Demolition, including: Main house, Detached Garage and Eastern Milking Structure. 2. Site remediation, including: backfilling and grading basement, hydroseeding, storm water protection and extending fencing. 3. Building a new utility shed and rerouting existing utilities to the new shed. 4. Relocating the front gate to be closer to Lopes road. C. The Work of this Contract comprises construction of all the Work indicated, described in the Specifications, or otherwise required by the Contract Documents. D. Unless provided otherwise in the Contract Documents, all risk of loss to Work covered by Contract Documents shall rest with Contractor until Final Acceptance of the Work. E. Contractor's use of the premises for Work and storage is limited to the area indicated. F. Contractor shall be solely responsible for all utilities (including without limitation electricity, water, gas, etc.) at the Site
