Description

The city reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in the best interest of the city. The bituminous mixture shall be mixed and placed in accordance with applicable requirements specified for 4EML Bituminous Mixture in Division 5 of the 2012 Michigan Department of Transportation Standard Specifications. Penetration range for regular mixture shall be 58C to -28C. The hot plant mix bituminous aggregate surface course shall conform to the 2012 Michigan Department of Transportation Standard Specifications. The aggregate shall be crushed to the 20-AA Specification for the Mineral Surface. Bond or tack coat shall be applied in accordance with the 2012 Michigan Department of Transportation Specifications over the concrete T panel footings. All material produced must be weighed on an approved truck scale and a copy of the truck tickets shall be given to a designated representative of the city of Kingsford. These tickets shall be the basis of payment to the contractor for all material produced, hauled, laid, and compacted on areas designated by the city of Kingsford. Contractor shall coordinate with Superintendent on the schedule and pavement thickness to be applied. Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment, and appurtenance necessary to do the work required. Contractor shall furnish all traffic control devices and supervision of traffic control in accordance with Michigan Department of Transportation Standards and the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Control devices. Payment shall be made upon inspection and approval of the city of Kingsford. Contractor shall provide copies of all workers compensation and liability insurance prior to commencement of the project and shall agree to save the city of Kingsford free and harmless from all claims that may arise from the performance of this contract. Contractor shall provide the city of Kingsford with performance and payment bonds in accordance with the requirements of the city of Kingsford. Completion date for the work shall be no later than Saturday October 28th., 2023 The successful bidder must review the total project with the city of Kingsford before construction starts. It is the responsibility of the successful bidder to familiarize themselves with all conditions of this project.
