Description | Bids received after this time will not be opened, nor considered. All bids must include apprentice documents in a separate envelope. Bids received without the apprenticeship documents will be considered non-responsive and will be rejected. Questions will be welcomed and answered through an addendum. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, power for all mechanical equipment including replacement of the existing air handling units, chiller and cooling tower, power for all proposed plumbing equipment including replacement of the existing restroom fixtures as well as the relocation of the existing electrical closet within the Main Terminal Building. The fee shall be in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to the Town of Islip. No other forms of payment will be accepted. No bid will be accepted by email or facsimile. Each bid must be accompanied by a Cashier's Check, Certified Check, or Bid Bond payable to the Town of Islip, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Bid Price. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Payment and Performance Bonds for the full amount of the Contract. The Town may make such investigations as deemed necessary to determine the ability of the bidder to perform the work. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days after being publicly opened and read. In the event bids are rejected or no bids are received, the Department of Purchasing is authorized to re-advertise for bids. Bidders must be licensed by the State of New York. Bidders shall make a good faith effort to obtain Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation of eight and seventy- four hundredths percent (8.74%) of the dollar value of the Contract in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DBE Program, 49 CFR 26, and the goals established by the Airport. The Town of Islip does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, and disability in employment or the provision of services. Individuals requiring special accommodations are requested to contact Mr. Stephen Siniski at 631-467-3300 to make arrangements no later than seven (7) calendar days prior to the Pre-Bid Conference and/or Bid Opening. The Town of Islip, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders or offerors that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The Town reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids in whole or in part and to waive any informality in any or all bids, and to accept the bid or part thereof which it deems most favorable to the Town. |
