Description | Donmyer and Water Well Road Improvements Work shall consist of removing the existing structures, constructing reinforced concrete drainage boxes, grading, aggregate surfacing, traffic control, and seeding at the locations shown on the construction plans. Any questions regarding the specifications or the bidding process are to be addressed to Saline County Administrative Resource Center at (785) 309-5810. The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities. Saline County shall make the decision as to what constitutes a technicality. No bid may be withdrawn after opening time for a period of 90 days. Late bids will be rejected. The Contractor will commence the work required by the Contract Documents no earlier than October 1, 2022 (Early Start Date). This is the date utility relocations are expected to be completed. Upon approval by Saline County, the Contractor may begin construction earlier if utility relocations are completed sooner. The project must be completed by September 29, 2023 (Completion Date). Once construction has started, the Contractor has 120 working days with 0 clean up days, beginning with the first day traffic control is in place, to complete each project. In the event the Contractor fails to complete this work on or before the dates herein established, Saline County shall be entitled to liquidated damages of $400.00 for each day the work goes uncompleted. A bid bond, cashier's check or a certified check in an amount of not less than five Percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid shall accompany each proposal made payable without conditions to "Saline County." The amount of the said proposal guarantee may be retained by and forfeited to Saline County as Liquidated Damages if the proposal covered thereby is accepted and a contract based thereon is awarded and the bidder should fail to enter into a contract in the form prescribed, with legally responsible sureties, within ten (10) days after such award is made by Saline County. Performance bond: A contract bond to Saline County, in an amount equal to 100 percent (100%) of the Contract price. Statutory Payment Bond: A payment bond to Saline County in an amount equal to 100 percent (100%) of the Contract price. The Contractor shall file the Statutory Payment Bond at the office of the Clerk of the District Court. liquidated damages of $400.00 for each day the work goes uncompleted |
