Description | Scope- construction of Dacetown Road Overlay Project of approximately 2.750 Miles of County Road in District Five Brooming or other approved method of cleaning the existing asphalt roadway shall be done prior to placing HMA and shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. o Repair base failures and/or edge repairs as directed by the Engineer. o The Contractor shall provide all signs and traffic control devices necessary to safely maintain traffic around and through the work zone areas. Signing for lane closures shall be in accordance with the Standard Drawings and the current edition of the MUTCD. o Payment for Ultra-Thin Asphalt Pavement shall be made under 907-411-1. The unit measurement of payment will be by Ton. All hard copy proposals shall be directed to the attention of the Jones County Board of Supervisors with the outside of the envelope marked JCBS-102-23 Bid Proposal Overlay Project. The contractor shall indicate certificate of responsibility number on the outside of the envelope. Online bids shall be accepted and opened as instructed on the website. Basis of Award: The award, if made, will be to the lowest and best qualified bidder. The Board intends to accept the lowest and best bid and reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids. Total Contract Time as Advertised: 40 Working Days The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that, in any contract entered pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. Certified Check or Bid Bond for five percent (5%) of total bid payable to Jones County must accompany each proposal. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letter qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid, and such proposals will not be considered in making the award.
