Deductive Alternate Bid #1 (Line "A" Segment 4) Deductive Alternate Bid #1 includes deducting Line "A" Segment 4 as shown on the drawings from the Base Bid. Deductive Alternate Bid #2 (Line "C" Segment 2) Deductive Alternate Bid #2 includes deducting Line "C" Segment 2 as shown on the drawings from the Base Bid. Deductive Alternate Bid #3 (Line "C" Segment 1) Deductive Alternate Bid #3 includes deducting Line "C" Segment 1 as shown on the drawings from the Base Bid. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the "CITY OF GUNTOWN" negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an accepted Surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total of the Bid shall be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract amount. This project is financed by a Community Development Block Grant and is subject to the rules and regulations thereof. The successful bidder must comply with Section 3 of the Hous- ing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (12 U.S.C. 1701u). CDBG regulations governing the grant re- quire that, to the greatest extent feasible opportunities for contract- ing, subcontracting, training and employment arising in connection with this CDBG project will be extended to Section 3 businesses and Section 3 residents. Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
