Description

The Hanover County School Board intends to award an Architectural and Engineering Contract to a qualified firm to design a new elementary school in Ashland, Virginia. The new school is scheduled for occupancy in September of 2024. The new school will consolidate the enrollment of students who currently attend Henry Clay Elementary School and John M. Gandy Elementary School and will be located on the current John M. Gandy site. It is the intention of the Board to continue to occupy both of these Elementary Schools throughout the construction phases until consolidating the occupancy in 2024. The maximum occupancy of the new school will be 800 students. In addition to providing the services to design the new school, the contract may also include architectural, engineering and abatement services to demolish and/or repurpose any or all of the current buildings on the two sites.
