Description

The Project provides for the construction of approximately 1,300 liner feet of bank improvements consisting of slope clearing and installation of rock riprap along Sandy Creek between Main Street and Wheeler Street (US 96) in the City of Jasper. Bids are for several items and quantity of work as follows: Mobilization Surface preparation including excavation, regrading, shaping and compacting Tree removal Construction of 12" stone protection riprap Construction of 18" stone protection riprap Construction of 24" stone protection riprap Site cleanup. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to City of Jasper, Texas or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Performance Bonds - Requires all prime contractors which enter into a formal contract in excess of $100,000 with the State, a county, or a municipality; a department, board, or agency of the state, a county, or a municipality; and a school district or a subdivision thereof, to obtain a Performance Bond in the amount of the contract before commencing with work. Payment Bonds- Requires all prime contractors which enter into a formal contract with the State, a county, or a municipality; a department, board, or agency of the state, a county, or a municipality; and a school district or a subdivision thereof, to furnish to the governmental entity a payment bond in the amount of the contract. This project will be financed with assistance from the General Land Office (GLO) under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program and is subject to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas General Land Office, Disaster Recovery and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. City of Jasper, Texas reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by City of Jasper, Texas for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
