Description | The proposed project will include the reconstruction of Cotton Gin road from Goforth Road to Bonanza Street and replacing three existing drainage crossings. The project includes improving the width, pavement section of the road, new safety guard rail, upgrading private driveways to the right-of-way line, replacing drainage culverts, and ditch grading. The existing roadway width of approximately 22-feet will be widened to a of 30-feet over the entire length of the project. The project also includes approximately 1850 linear feet of guard rail installation along the pavement edge for traffic protection. Drainage improvements include new culvert and slope protection. The drainage crossing at Porter Creek is excluded from the scope of this project and will be designed and constructed by others. The project is designed to keep the roadway open during construction, as Cotton Gin Road has various residents living along the roadway in Hays County. Upon completion of the project all disturbed areas shall be revegetated. |
