Description | The City of Woodstock, Illinois (the "City") is the County Seat of McHenry County, an hour northwest of Chicago on Metra rail. Home to the 1889 Woodstock Opera House and 1857 Old McHenry County Courthouse (under restoration), Woodstock is a diverse community of 25,630 residents with a strong arts and culture orientation, year-round events on the Historic Woodstock Square, and beautiful natural surroundings. Initial presentation of this concept on February 15, 2022 received strong positive response from the public and City Council. This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued by the City, acting through Woodstock Public Works Department. The purpose of this RFP is to establish a contract with a qualified consultant for the design and installation of an Intergenerational Inclusive Playground at Emricson Park offering healthy outdoor enjoyment for all ages and all mobilities and encouraging family togetherness. This will include interconnected areas for inclusive youth play equipment, a shaded area of low-impact strength and balance exercise equipment, and a picnic area for older adults. The project's working title is "Nature's Way: A Playground of Possibilities", suggesting a creative design incorporating colors and themes of nature. All proposals received prior to the specified date and time, which meet or exceed the minimum specifications, will be considered by the City. The City will review each properly submitted proposal and will select based upon price, availability, quality and other features of the proposals. The City of Woodstock reserves the right to accept the proposal from the lowest most qualified proposer and also reserves the right to reject any proposals or part of a proposal that does not conform to the proposal requirements or to modify or waive formalities and technicalities in a proposal, or to reject all proposals. Compliance conditions are included in the proposal documents. Inquiries regarding proposals or technical questions should be made in writing only via email to the Carlos Rodriguez at crodriguez@woodstockil.gov by August 17, 2022 at 4:00 PM |
