Cherry Street Green Infrastructure

Cherry Street Green Infrastructure Project. Roadway reconstruction, replace water and sewer, street drainage work, outfall repair and stream bank stabilization. roadway reconstruction including new curbing and sidewalks; green and traditional stormwater infrastructure improvements to enhance water quality, promote recharge, and increase flood resiliency; water and sewer main and lateral replacements; restoration of the deteriorating Cherry Street outfall; and the bioengineered stabilization of adjacent, eroded bank areas along Brickyard Brook. The project includes approximately 2,000 linear feet of roadway reconstruction; the replacement of approximately 1,900 linear feet of traditional stormwater infrastructure with new storm drain piping, drain manholes, and deep-sump, hooded catch basins; and the incorporation of approximately 1,400 square feet of bioretention planters and 7 tree box filters. Additionally, the project is providing approximately 2,000 linear feet of 8-inch water main; providing approximately 2,100 linear feet of 12 inch PVC sewer pipe in Cherry Street; and replacing hydrants, gate valves, and water/sewer services to the property lines for existing residents.
