Geogrid Construction for CREATES for Rowan University

1. The goal is to construct a full-scale pavement test strip (milling and removing the existing pavement structure, paving multiple Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) layers, and laying geogrid interlayers with tack coat). The contractor will also assist CREATEs’ team in installing instrumentation and determining densities during and/or at the end of construction activities 2. Approximate dimensions for milled area are 100 ft. long by 15 ft. wide by 5 in. deep into the ground. All existing pavement (HMA) in the designated area should be milled and removed up to the existing granular base layer. The Contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all existing pavement is removed and disposed of accordingly from the site. The milled surface will be inspected by the Rowan/CREATES team prior to placing base material to ensure all existing asphalt material is removed.
