Forest County Courthouse Window Replacement/ Repair Project

As of 01/17/2023 They only received one bid and will likely rebid the project. The budget for this project is between $30, 000 - $35,000. Contractor is to include in his/her bid the material and labor to install each window unit plus any miscellaneous blocking, shims, or other accessories needed for a complete water and airtight installation. The exterior of each window unit is to be clad with aluminum to match other units previously installed. All window interiors to be stained and varnished pine, color to match other existing windows in the courthouse. All interior trim if needed is to be stained and varnished oak to match existing. All units are to be caulked following installation with a 100 % silicone sealant or equal as recommended by the window manufacturer. The contractor is also required to furnish and install interior and exterior tempered glass storm window units for the arch top window located at the first to second floor landing of the courthouse. In addition to the above windows, the Owner would like included in the proposal an estimate to inspect and "tune up" other Marvin windows in the building. This "tune up" would include recaulking the exterior of each window and the replacement of weatherstripping if needed. The Owner understands that it is not practical to provide a fixed number quote for the additional work, however an estimate would be appreciated. This estimate could consist of a technician hourly rate plus cost of materials mark up as well as the cost of a lift to reach each window. The Owner will review all proposals and select the proposal that best meets the needs of the County. A certificate of insurance will be required from the selected contractor that meets the levels shown in the attached.
