Description

Provide material, labor, services, and tools to remove and replace fuel oil supply, return, and vent lines from the underground storage tank to the existing boiler room. General Scope of Work Description: Provide material, labor, services, and tools to remove and replace fuel oil supply, return, and vent lines from the underground storage tank to the existing boiler room. • The contractor is responsible for making all required notifications to the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE). • The contractor is responsible for all testing and certification requirements required by Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations. • The contractor is responsible for all field measurements. • The distance from the tank to the boiler room is approximately 75 linear feet. The area above the tank and the oil piping path to the boiler is covered with asphalt/concrete; access and trenching is the contractor’s responsibility. • All debris will be removed from the site and disposed of off-site. • The piping replacement, at a minimum, will require the removal of the existing oil piping from the tank to the boilers within the school, including the UST vent and two oil sumps. • The contractor will replace the vent, supply and return oil line, two oil sumps, and one transition sump. 1” double wall supply and return fuel lines and new 2” double wall FRP vent. • All work will be executed and completed per MDE requirements. • Supply and return piping will be provided with a detectable laminated identification underground warning tape, as a visual/detectable signal for further onsite digging and locating utilities. • Provide and install two (2) sumps on top of the tank and one (1) transition sump at building wall. • Perform testing as required by MDE of the installed piping, sumps, and associated connections. • Back fill top of tank and pipe trench to sub grade. • The contractor will stub the new piping into the boiler room leaving a minimum of 5’ of piping for future connection. • Set two (2) manhole frames and covers around new sumps. • Pour new concrete pad on top of tank approximately 6’ x 10’ x 8”. • Pour concrete around transition sump at boiler room wall. Pricing Valid for: 120 days after receipt of order, not to exceed $49,999.00 Work Completion: 120 days from issuance of Purchase Order. Refer all questions with regard to this RFQ in writing to mburroughs@smcps.org The initial contract period will be for sixty (120) days. SMCPS reserves the right to cancel the contract, at its discretion, for any reason. It is the intent of SMCPS that should a bid be accepted and awarded, the bid documents, bid response, notice of award, and subsequent purchase orders will become the contract. SMCPS reserves the right to award the requirements of this bid in total or in part as it determines to be in the best interest of SMCPS. SMCPS reserves the right to make multiple awards. Contract awards are subject to the availability of funding.
