Description

All questions related to the Invitation for Bid shall be directed in writing via e-mail to bids@globeaz.gov by Wednesday, January 4, 2023, 4:00 P.M. (AZ Time). Any correspondence related to the Invitation for Bid should refer to the appropriate Request for Bid ID, page, and paragraph number. All questions will be answered no later than January 13, 2023, through an Addendum. Contractors are invited to be present at the opening of bids, but absence will not be considered cause for disqualification. Contractors shall be responsible for any licenses or permits required by the regulatory agency of the State of Arizona that apply to the performance of this contract. The City of Globe reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to accept any bids, or to waive any informality in any bid, or to withhold the award if deemed in the best interest of the City of Globe. This is a re-solicitation effort. The City of Globe is soliciting bids for a qualified contractor to adjust to lower and/or raise a minimum of twenty (20) manholes located throughout the City of Globe, AZ. The following is a description of the worked to be performed. 1. Adjustment of 20 manholes to finish grade using MAG detail 422. 2. The City intends to address a minimum of twenty (20) manholes that are most critical. Project Clarifications: 1. The current "fire bricks" setting under existing manholes does not meet MAG specs. These should be adjusted with minimal disturbance to properly align. 2. The worst-case scenario repair for each type should be used for pricing. The City will prioritize the manholes by "WORST FIRST" and it should be assumed for bidding purposes that the most difficult item(s) will be completed. A revised list may be provided after contract award if the City decides to adjust manholes beyond the first twenty specified in the scope. 3. Traffic control is an important part of the pricing, and the successful bidder must factor that into each location. The city is open to a flexible schedule or a traffic control plan that includes all adjustments listed. The bid will be based on a minimum of 20 adjustments and the entire list may be addressed depending on the budget. 3rd party traffic plans will be accepted but not mandatory. Contractor may submit traffic control plans for approval. 4. A composite adjustment ring will be accepted if the manufacturer can provide documentation that it is equivalent to or exceeds the MAG standards. 5. The City will accept an equivalent to MAG standards if that equivalent is an accepted industry standard. 6. If plates are used, they must be stabilized with cold mix or another approved method that would leave the roadway safe. 7. No permits are required for this project; however, the contractor must be properly licensed and insured. City staff will monitor the project for compliance. 8. No civil restoration is applicable Should a bidder find discrepancies, inconsistencies, obscurities or omissions from the Bidding Documents they shall at once notify the City Engineer, in writing via e-mail to bids@globeaz.gov PROJECT LOCATION: 7873 to 7981 S. Dickinson Drive, Globe, AZ 85501
