Blackwater River State Forest 20/21 Longleaf Cone Sale

Estimated total of 10,000 bushels of Forest Source longleaf pine and 2,000 bushels of Improved longleaf pine cones may be available for harvest. The winning bidder(s) will be allowed to collect cones during the collection period from contract execution through November 30, 2020. The Forest Source (Area 1: 15,900 acres; Area 2: 16,385 Acres) and Improved longleaf (35 acres) are identified on the attached maps. Trees in the Forest Source collection area must have a minimum diameter of 10 inches DBH to be shaken. Trees in the Improved collection area must have a minimum diameter of 8 inches DBH to be shaken. In lieu of monetary payment, the bidder will pay the Florida Forest Service with green cones. Minimum cone returns are 800 bushels from each Forest Source area and 400 bushels from the Improved area. The cones returned to the Florida Forest Service as payment must be fresh green longleaf pine cones. Bids will be awarded on the percentage of cones pledged to the Florida Forest Service.
