Description

1. Contractor responsible for identifying all locations in the field needing concrete removal and replacement prior to beginning work. 2. Contractor shall remove existing concrete and associated materials as detailed by attached address sheet. 3. Contractor shall prepare the area to receive concrete including substrate preparation and form installation using USAGE Standards for concrete pavement. 4. Contractor shall place concrete in designated areas using USACE Standards for concrete pavement. 5. All sidewalks should be cured with liquid-type membrane-forming curing compound, complying with ASTM C309, Type I, Class A or B. Curing compound should be applied in strict accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. 6. All sidewalk and pad surfaces should have a textured, non-slip broom finish free from trowel marks, except for the edging tool. The Contractor shall secure approval of walk finish from an RRHA project representative at the completion of no more than the first 300 sq. ft. ofwalk construction. 7. All edges and joints should be rounded to a minimum Vi-inch radius with an approved tool. Horizontal surface of edging tool should not exceed 2 inches in width and should not depress into sidewalk or pad more than 1/16 of an inch. 8. Contractor shall provide expansion/control joints as necessary during replacement of pads. 9. Contractor shall preserve all cleanouts and other items currently in the areas to be replaced. 10. Contractor shall provide Vi-inch per foot transverse slope when placing concrete for sidewalks.
