Description | BRA will prepare the subgrade and base courses for all surfaces to be coated except as noted below. Lake Office Roads and parking areas with rock base finish estimated at ~60,000 sq. ft. Contractor is responsible to perform their own measurements of project area to determine adequate quantities of required materials to complete job as defined in the specifications above. Provide a copy of the certified analysis from the refinery with each shipment (truck) of asphalt product delivered to the project 1. Apply one coat MC-30 prime oil at a rate of .30 gal. per sq. yd. (48 hours minimum cure time). 2. First coat of asphalt chip seal: a. Apply AC-10 Asphalt at a rate of .35 gal. per sq. yd. over prepared surface. b. Apply Grade 3 coated chip rock at a rate of 27# per sq. yd. compacted in place. 3. Second coat of asphalt chip seal: a. Apply AC-10 Asphalt at a rate of .35 gal. per sq. yd. b. Apply Grade 3 coated chip rock at a rate of 27# per sq. yd. compacted in place. 4. Lake Office Roads and parking areas with exiting seal coat finish estimated at ~162,000 sq. ft. a. Broom sweep total area of loose rock and dirt contamination. b. One course of asphalt chip seal: 1. Apply AC-10 Asphalt at a rate of .35 gal. per sq. yd. over exiting seal coat. 2. Apply Grade 3 coated chip rock at a rate of 27# per sq. yd. compacted in place c. BRA Staff will stripe parking area at job completion. 5. Weather Conditions – Fog Seal a. The minimum temperatures for laying a 2-coarse surface treatment should be either 80- degrees or 70-degrees and rising. Do not apply a seal coat if temperatures are below 70- degrees. If the road resurfacing is to be performed at or near minimum temperatures, then a Fog Seal should be applied to protect the surface from shelling or raveling. |
