Description | Project will include important fuel reduction, habitat management, and access road improvements on 318 acres at the Myles Standish State Forest and Southeast Pine Barrens Wildlife Management Area in Plymouth, MA. Treatments will consist of mowing/mulching thick patches of scrub oak and dense 1-9" dbh pitch pine and white pine, as well as associated access road improvements. The principal objectives of this project are to restore an open canopy pitch pine – scrub oak community to benefit wildlife and to mitigate the wildfire hazard associated with the current heavy fuel load conditions. |
