Improvements to Ernston Road

The project generally consists of concrete, roadway paving / reconstruction and storm drainage improvements to Ernston Road between NJ State Highway Route No. 9 / Westminster Boulevard to Oakwood Drive rights-of-way located within the Borough of Sayreville. The work involved with these improvements includes the maintenance and protection of traffic; repair and reconstruction of approximately 16 +/- existing inlet / manhole storm sewer structures of various types; removal and replacement of approximately 6 +/- of existing deteriorated sanitary sewer manhole frames and covers; resetting of existing utility manhole castings and water main / hydrant valve boxes; removal and replacement of existing fire hydrant including connection to existing pipe runout and all appurtenances; removal of approximately 2,000 lineal feet +/- of existing concrete curb and monolithic concrete curb / gutter; removal of approximately 3,200 square feet +/- of various types of concrete sidewalks, driveways and/or aprons; construction of approximately 2,000 lineal feet +/- of new standard Borough concrete curb and approximately 3,200 square feet +/- of new standard Borough concrete sidewalk; furnishing and installation of cast-in-place handicapped sidewalk ramp delineation; roadway milling of approximately 11,000 square yards +/- of existing asphalt pavement; crack / joint preparation and furnishing / installation of joint sealer, if where ordered; cutting / removal of approximately 1,000 square yards +/- of existing roadway asphalt pavement; the installation of dense graded aggregate base course, if and where ordered; installation of approximately 600 tons +/- of hot mix asphalt base course, resurfacing the entire roadway with approximately 1,700 tons +/- of hot mix asphalt surface course material; application of approximately 10,000 lineal feet +/- of traffic pavement stripes / markings (4" wide lines); application of approximately 1,200 square feet +/- of traffic pavement markings (symbols); application of fire hydrant pavement markings (symbols); furnishing and installation of various types of raised pavement markers; furnishing and installation of topsoil, seed and topsoil stabilization matting; right-of-way restoration; and all other preparation, restoration and associated work in accordance with the Contract Documents.
