Start Up and Shut Down Irrigation Systems

Start Up & Shut Down Irrigation Systems The scope of work shall consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and transportation required unless otherwise stated by the City and in strict accordance with the specifications for the work referenced above. The estimated project value is: $130,000.00 All questions must be submitted in writing and either emailed to purchasing@cambridgema.gov or delivered to the Office of the Purchasing Agent, Elizabeth Unger, City Hall 795 Massachusetts Ave, Room 303, Cambridge, MA 02139 not later than Wednesday, February 22, 2023 by 3:00 p.m. The City of Cambridge is requesting bids for spring start-up and fall shutdown of irrigation systems throughout the City. Currently there are 68 irrigation systems ranging from entire sports complexes to small bump out islands in streets that consist of 6 heads. Start-up of specified locations shall take place between April 1 and May 30, as weather permits. Shutdown, by compressed air blow out method, of specified locations shall take place between November 1 and December 10, as weather permits. There are a number of different control clocks throughout the City ranging from Rainbird ESP-LXME clocks to battery operated Hunter clocks. In addition, there are a number of water play systems and water fountains for which start-up is not included but shutdown is included.
