Water Meters, Transmitting Units, and Data Management Platform Project

The City of Xenia replaced nearly all of its water meters in 2007 at which point it switched to an automated meter reading system. The system requires drive-by readings collected once each month. Now, more than a decade later, the software is at the end of its useful life as are many of the batteries in the meters' transmitters. The City is planning an upgrade to a fixed based system that provides more frequent readings and enhanced functionality. The City plans to replace all of its meters that are 1" or greater. Many of the City's 5/8" and 3/4" meters are reading accurately, and so in all probability, many of the meters will remain, while the transmitting piece will be upgraded. That being said, the City is routinely replacing meters as needed and is in search of new meter products that will adequately address service needs. The City is seeking a vendor who will provide fixed based meter reading software and equipment and replacement meters as needed.
