Description

Project consists of a 1,375 square foot addition to the existing band room and finish upgrades to the remaining existing 2,510 square foot band room space. Alternates include upgrades in existing accessory spaces, new trophy case and plaque rail, and new fixed sound-absorptive wall panels. Project cost range is anticipated to be $425,000 - $475,000. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities and irregularities in the bidding and to accept the bids deemed most favorable to their interest, after all bids have been examined and evaluated. A bid bond, bank draft, or certified check made payable to the Urbana School District #116, Urbana, Illinois in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid proposal shall accompany each bid as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will furnish satisfactory, execute the Contract and proceed with the Work. Upon failure to do so, he shall forfeit the deposit or amount of bid bond as liquidated damages, and no mistakes or errors on the part of the Bidder will excuse the Bidder or entitle him to a return of the deposit or bid bond. No Bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 45 days after the date of opening thereof. The bid bonds or checks will, with the exception of those of the three lowest bidders, be returned seven days after the opening of bids and the remaining checks or bid bonds will be returned when the Contract is executed. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance required for the Work.
