Description | A. The Shawnee County Jail Reroof project consists of the original part of the ADC with a new EPDM roof and is located at 501 SE 8th Ave.in Topeka, KS. This will include the installation of a standing seam metal roof over an existing skylight style roof. This project will includereplacement of all 24 gauge cap metal on all walls even those that do not have roofing connected to them. Allen McKellips, Project Manager/Coordinator, as the Owner's Representative and may be contacted prior to any pre-bid meeting. Questions after the pre-bid will need to go through the process given by the county purchasing dept. B. The project consists of installing Carlisle's Sure-Seal EPDM Adhered Roofing System or approved alternate system as outlined below: Tear off all existing roofing material, rigid insulation, gypsum board, cap metal, flashing and edge metal. Check condition of existing metal/concrete deck for suitability. Install fully adhered EPDM roofing system over cover board over tapered polyisocyanurate insulation. Existing roof hatches and skylights to remain. Flash as required for warranty. Existing lightning protection to be reinstalled as-is at completion of project. Certification not required. Gypsum substrate board does not need to be replaced. Tapered ISO to match existing height at drains and to taper out from drains with 1/8" slope. Standing seam roof shall be fashioned to provide a waterproof barrier over old skylight and provide positive drainage. A gutter/downspout system shall also be installed to keep snow/ice from sliding down to sidewalk below. Metal shall be 24 gauge and match color to the capmetal being installed in other areas. C.
