Comprehensive Asset Renewal at Wetzel Road Wastewater Treatment Plant - Onondaga County

This project takes a systematic approach to repair, replace and renovate various assets at Wetzel Rd. Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The scope of this project is wide and will include repair or replacement of a large variety of small and midsize assets that are not too big and costly to be standalone projects or that are not going to be part of the department wide projects scope. This project is created and will continuously be updated by strongly relying on our Asset Management System and the knowledge of our operations, maintenance and management teams. Assets considered under this project are analyzed and evaluated individually based on likelihood of failure and consequence of failure, which determine the priorities, the nature and the size of our capital investments. This project is included in the county's FY 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program. As of December 7, 2022, further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
