Description | We are seeking subcontractor participation to construct a New Visitor & Community Conservation Education Center at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Titusville, Florida. This project has already been awarded to our firm and is currently in 65% design phase. This project requires multiple scopes/disciplines to include but not limited to the following: Site Work and Utilities, Concrete, Masonry (CMU), Miscellaneous Metals, Division 6, Roofing, Fiber-Cement Siding, Doors/Hardware, Windows, Tiling, Painting, Drywall, Division 10 and 12 Specialties, Mechanical, Electrical, Comm, and Security. A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: B. The building program for the interior spaces is broken into three categories: The Exhibit Area and Nature Store Administrative Offices Multi-Purpose Room and Classroom C. These three basic building functions are designed as two separate structures connected by covered exterior walkways. D. The Exhibit structure (2182 GSF) houses the main exhibition space, the Nature Store with storage and the primary restroom facilities. E. The Administrative areas (2501 GSF) are set adjacent to the Exhibit Area allowing access while providing complete separation of these two areas. Refuge employees may enter the building via the main walkway or through a separate employee only entrance placed for more direct access to the administration parking area. The Administrative area contains the Manager office, NPS office, 2 private offices, Conference Room, Copy/Storage space, an open office area for 6 workstations, a workspace for 2 Interns, Fee office, a Breakroom with small kitchenette and Men’s and Women’s restrooms. F. The Multi-Purpose room (855 GSF) provides the option of dividing the room into two separate areas with seating for 24 in each side. Placed with direct separate exterior access, this space could be accessed at varied times regardless of typical working hours for other areas within the Visitor Center. G. The Classroom (1215 GSF) provides the facility with flexibility to accommodate varied educational or community activities. The Classroom contains counter area with a sink for wet projects, a dishwasher and a small range. There is a large storage room for tables or chairs which can accommodate up to 48 visitors. |
