Description

The Work under this Project consists of the following: The scope of work consists of renovating all existing restrooms in the facility. Plumbing work includes, but is not limited to, replacing faucets, flush valves, and lavatories. Architectural work includes, but is not limited to, replacing ceramic floor tile, toilet partitions, ADA grab bars, and painting. The base scope of work includes: 1) Replace faucets and install lavatory pipe protectors 2) Replace flush valves 3) Readjust lavatory anchoring as needed and re-caulk edges 4) Install new floor tile, thresholds, and floor drain covers as indicated 5) Replace toilet partitions and ADA grab bars as indicated 6) Paint walls 7) Replace existing cast iron sinks in kitchen with stainless steel sinks with paddle handles. Additive Alternate#1 Scope: Gym Office Showers 1.) Remove and modify gym office shower enclosures to accept prefabricated shower enclosure. Additive Alternate#2 Scope: Lavatories Vitreous China 2.) Remove and replace all lavatory units indicated with vitreous china alternative utilizing existing utilities and exposed arm carriers. Services provided by the contractor shall include, but not be limited to the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, tools, traffic control, testing, transportation and all other miscellaneous appurtenances and work necessary to complete the project in accordance with the Contract Documents, Drawings and Specifications. (See also page 8, Section 6: Scope of Work/Statement of Needs) Project Schedule Notice to Proceed (NTP) is anticipated to be issued following School Board approval and contract execution in November 2022. Thereafter, the Contractor can begin working with the Owner to obtain approval of submittals Onsite work for this project shall commence on June 16, 2023 Substantial Completion is required by August 18, 2023 Final Completion is required by September 15, 2023 Working hours during the Summer are unlimited. The Summer session begins June 16, 2023, and ends August 18, 2023, at Substantial Completion. Following Substantial Completion, working hours shall be outside of normal occupied hours, from 3:30 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. Monday through Friday, and any time on weekends with approval by WJCC Schools. Work Location:Toano Middle School 7817 Richmond Rd, Toano, VA 23168 Bonding: Bid Security in the amount of Five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Performance and Payment bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract will be required by the Owner prior to execution of the contract. Liquidated Damages in the amount of $500.00 per day will be assessed for failure to meet the schedule for Substantial Completion or Final Completion.
