Description | Presolicitation Notice for NMAH: Replace Fire Alarm Panels and Associated Devices OFEO Project No. 1703102 and 1603107. The selected offeror shall be fully qualified to perform the Work, including, without limitation, the following crucial elements: Replacement of Fire Alarm Systems, including expertise with Siemens XLSV and Work in active museum spaces (exhibits, collections storage, offices, conservation laboratories, etc.), including protection of museum artifacts and exhibitory. Offerors must have five (5) years experience as a construction contractor. Completion or ongoing construction minimum of three (3) comparable projects within the past five (5) years; one (1) of which must be a major renovation or major addition minimally $8M in value. Key Subcontractors shall have a minimum of five years’ experience in the installation of fire alarm system of similar size, complexity and capacity. At a minimum key subcontractor include the Electrical and Fire Alarm subcontractors. NMAH Replace Fire Alarm Panels & Assoc Devices (Package A) Scope of Work. Work under this project includes demolition of existing fire alarm panels and devices, replacement of existing fire alarm panels, devices and installation of new fire alarm equipment operating system. The work includes, but is not limited to: a. General Conditions: qualified professional services, collections protection, equipment, materials, labor, management and provide appropriate temporary protection. b. Demolition: selective removal of existing fire alarm structure called out in construction documents. c. Architectural: interior finishes, patch & painting and other architectural activities called out in the construction documents. d. Electrical: electrical distribution system, panel boards, branch wiring, fixtures, switches and outlets as indicated in construction docuements; e. Emergency: Include mass notification system functionality of messages per construction documents. f. Fire Detection: Replace the existing Siemens System 3 and MXLV Fire Alarm Control Panels with new Siemens Desigo fire safety modular fire alarm control panels as well as provide a new digital addressable emergency voice communication fire alarm system throughout of the National Museum of American History. Provide a complete digital, addressable emergency voice communication fire alarm system, including, all wiring, raceways, pull boxes, terminal cabinets, outlets and mounting boxes, control equipment, alarm and supervisory signals, initiating devices, alarm notification appliances, notification appliance booster panels, interface equipment, and all other accessories and miscellaneous items including software system programming and testing for a complete operating system throughout whether specifically noted or not. All systems shall comply with the International Building Code (IBC) 2018 edition, International Fire Code (IFC) 2018 edition, ASME A17.1, NFPA Standards 13 (2016), 70 (2017) AND 72 (2016), Smithsonian Institution OSHEM Fire Protection & Life Safety Design Manual (9-9-2014), and Smithsonian Institution Code, Standards and Guidelines, Feb 2012. The equipment provided shall be listed for the intended purpose by a national recognized testing laboratory. Provide software system, system programming, testing for a complete operating system and shall secure all necessary inspections and final system acceptance from building officials (AHJ). g. Security: Card reader connection to fire alarm system and associated devices. h. Telecommunications/IT: as it pertains to tie-ins for security and the fire alarm panels and associated devices. NMAH Replace Fire Stair Doors (Package B) Scope of Work: Work under this project includes replacement of existing fire stair doors. The Work includes, but is not limited to: a. General Conditions: qualified professional services, equipment, materials, labor, management and personnel to replace fire stair doors and provide appropriate temporary protection. b. Demolition: removal of existing door leafs known to contain insulation with ACM within enclosed door cores as indicated in Hazmat Report. c. Architectural: repair of existing door frames and UL certification for repaired door frames, installation of new fire stair door leafs including new exit hardware, fabrication and installation of two (2) new pedestrian safety gates. d. Security: reconnection of exiting installations of two (2) new card readers and associated electrical components, connection to existing security system. |
