Y--La Posa LTVA Sites Road Repaving FY22

The Work consists of the following: This proposed project includes road and pavement rehabilitation of La Posa Long Term Visitor Area site Roads. La Posa LTVA North, South, and West. The project consists of rehabilitation of approx. 38,924 sy of 3 La Posa LTVA site roads, Quartzsite, Arizona. The road construction includes but is not limited to 6 –inch pulverizing of existing pavement inplace, finish grading and compaction. Asphalt chip seal paving is the application of a Type 2B double chip seal (1st layer penetrating asphalt chip, 2nd layer nominal asphalt chip) with uncoated chips, a final fog seal and roadway markings. All patch work on first chipseal layer, if needed, must be completed and approved by COR or PI before starting second chipseal layer. Existing roadway is a double chip seal road. Survey and staking as well as compaction testing and sampling all materials is required and contractor’s responsibility to engage third party testing agency. Survey and staking to ensure all 38,924 sy of double chip seal are completed, ensure a cross slope of 2%-5% is achieved, and ensure proper drainage of roadway is provided. Contractor to submit traffic control plan and get any/all required permits from ADOT and/or any other agency required to complete project and to ensure proper signage is posted on U.S. Route 95. Existing site roads are 24 feet wide. Existing enterances varies at each site. La Posa West entrance width is 35 feet from U.S. Route 95 to visitor center.
