Hemisfair Civic Park Phase 2

Project (23-03746) - This project provides funding for continuing the restoration of historic buildings, a civic park, landscaping, and other improvements. This project is based on the park's master plan. This project is included in the city's 2022-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of January 3, 2023, a design architect has been selected. The City is currently soliciting requests and proposals for a contractor. Bids will be due February 14, 2023. The City Council will award the project in May 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available. The estimated cost of construction is $15,800,000. The Project consists of construction of a premier urban park in the heart of downtown San Antonio. This construction project includes, but is not limited to, the construction of sidewalks, plazas, gardens, ramps, retaining walls, custom metal work including handrails, stone fabrication, water features, structural soils systems, paving systems, electrical infrastructure and park lighting systems, plumbing infrastructure, grading and drainage, tree and shrub planting, grass planting, irrigation systems, park furniture installation, and any other work required for the completion of the project as designed in the project plans and specifications.
