Page 2 of 2 GATE 225953 Title of Project: Rehabilitate/Replace Well No. 4, Sandy Hook, New Jersey, GATE 225953 Project Description: Project Conditions: o The project is located at Gateway National Recreation Area, Sandy Hook, New Jersey. o The construction magnitude is between $1M and $5M. o The surrounding area is suburban with limited staging located at the Project site. o The Park will remain open during construction, thus contract activities and logistics must be structured and scheduled to minimize visitor impacts. o The anticipated period of performance is approximately 225 calendar days including any potential weather shutdown. o Winter construction may be required. Project Scope: This project will fully rehabilitate/replace a water well system to make it operable and compliant with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) requirements for firm capacity to meet peak daily demand. Project work includes design-build construction effort including: A/E designer of record services, complete construction drawings package and constructability checklist, drilling a redundant well (as required by NJDEP), installation of SCADA controls, electrical service, and tie-in to well No. 5; and installation of a multi-stage turbine pump, discharge piping, blow-off valve, and meter. Project also requires decommissioning of two existing wells, and construction of a new well house, driveway, and parking lot. The project replaces existing mechanical joint piping from the well site to the water plant building, an emergency generator and security fencing with gates. Cultural and natural resources shall be preserved during well decommissioning and demolition of any existing utility lines and structures. Type of Procurement: It is anticipated that a negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and price proposal. The government will consider an offeror's technical capability in comparison to its price. Estimated Price Range: between $1 million and $5 million Estimated Period of Performance: 225 calendar days (estimated October 2022 - May 2023) Proposal receipt date is not known at this time.
