Residential Curbside Recycling Collection Services

All proposals must be made on the basis of, and either meet or exceed, the requirements contained herein. All bidders must be able to provide the full scope of services described. 1. Bidder shall provide a wheeled ninety-five (95) gallon waste container to each residence that subscribes to the service. 2. Collection services shall be conducted every other week for a total of 26 collection dates per year. a. Scheduling shall be coordinated with the City of Huntington Public Works Department so as not to interfere with the daily garbage collection services. b. Holiday scheduling coordinated with the City of Huntington Public Works Department. 3. Bidder shall be responsible for billing the individual residential subscribers for the collection services. 4. The bidder shall provide all labor and equipment necessary for collecting recyclable materials per the established service schedule, and transport the materials to a recycling facility. 5. The bidder shall collect unprocessed recyclable materials, including any deposited items that may be not recyclable or otherwise improperly disposed of in the recycling containers “as is, where is” condition. Recyclable materials shall be recycled and shall not be disposed by some other means such as by landfilling, or incineration, excluding normal by-pass waste and litter. At the time recyclable materials are collected by the bidder, the recyclables shall become the property of the bidder.
