Description

The City of Whitefish, Montana (city) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the construction or repair of sidewalks, foot pavements, curbs, gutters, or any combination thereof for Fiscal Year 2024. The following items include mobilization, concrete sawing and removal, subgrade prep, concrete replacement, and necessary restoration of adjacent area (topsoil/seed, asphalt, etc.) per 2019 City of Whitefish Engineering Standards 4" STANDARD SIDEWALK (SD-14): ________ $/SQ FT 6" REINFORCED SIDEWALK (SD-18): ________ $/SQ FT 4" ADA RAMP (SD-15): ________ $/SQ FT ADA OR DRIVEWAY LAYDOWN CURB & GUTTER (SD-12): ________ $/LN FT CATCH OR SPILL CURB & GUTTER (SD-12): ________ $/LN FT STRAIGHT CURB (SD-13): ________ $/LN FT DETECTABLE WARNING TILE (SD-16): ________ $/SQ FT ADDITIONAL CONCRETE SAWING (as approved by City): ________ $/LN FT ADDITIONAL ASPHALT REMOVA & REPLACEMENT (as approved by City): ________ $/SQ FT ADDITIONAL MOBILIZATION (as approved by City): ________ $/DAY Concrete shall be M-4000 with 3/4 " maximum aggregate and a 20-day strength of 4000PSI, 5% to 8% air content with a maximum slump of four (4) inches. Concrete shall include 0.75 pounds of reinforcing fibers per cubic yard. Contraction Joints shall be spaced the same dimension as the width but not to exceed 6 feet each way. Contraction Joints shall be constructed by sawing or scoring. A tool shall be used which will leave corners rounded and destroy aggregate interlock for the specified minimum depth. Contraction Joints shall be minimum a 1/4 of the total depth of the concrete. All sidewalks greater than six feet in width shall be sawcut lengthwise down the center a minimum of 1/4 the total depth of the concrete. Expansion joints, using 1/2 " material shall be spaced at intervals of 45' maximum. All edges and joints shall be rounded with an edging tool of a minimum 1/4 " radius. Six inches of base material is required. Base material shall be 3/4 " crushed base course compacted to 95% per AASHTO, T-99, or sand thoroughly compacted in place. Grade, alignment and forms shall be inspected by the City or their designated inspector prior to pouring. All concrete driveway sections shall be 6" thick with reinforcement. See driveway detail approach SD-15. All cold joints shall have smooth dowel bars placed in bottom 1/3 of concrete at 18" O.C. each way & 6" from edges, or keys installed to prevent vertical separation The contractor shall secure and maintain general liability bodily injury and property damage, excess liability, and automobile bodily injury and property damage insurance coverage in an amount not less than $1,000,000 for each claim and $2,000,000 for each occurrence. All policies must name the City as an additional insured from and against claims, demands, causes of action, expenses, costs, or liability for injury to or death of persons, or damage to or loss of property arising out of or in any manner connected with Contractor's operations or performance under the agreement. ** This is an anticipated annual project value not to exceed $50,000.
