Challenger Drive and Lenze Drive Special Assessment

The Challenger Drive and Lenze Drive Special Assessment project is located near the Lake Jem area and shall consist of constructing 7,092 feet of new paved road on Challenger Drive and Lenze Drive. Other work associated with this project shall include the following: thermoplastic striping, roadway signage, swale work, driveway construction, storm pipe and structure installation, sodding and other miscellaneous incidental construction. The engineers estimate for this work is $1,113,831.00. As part of this project Lake County would like the contractors to provide an alternate bid for the following work: circular driveway on Lenze Drive. (See plan titled Lenze Drive Roadway Improvements Driveway Exhibit); additional milling and overlay for Lenze Drive (See plan titled Lenze Drive Roadway Improvements Exhibit Map, showing the area where the milling and overlay is being requested); Shirley Shores Road base repairs; Shirley Shores Road leveling; and Shirley Shores Road overlay. Lake County is looking for a balanced bid and intends on awarding to the combined lowest bidder. The engineers estimate for this alternate work is $420,769.00.
