Description | This is a performance based, non-personal services requirement to provide waste and Personal Identifiable Information (PII) disposal services. The Air Force Drug Testing Lab (AFDTL) disposes of approximately 1,000,000 urinalysis samples annually. A sample consists of a 105 mL round capped bottle, 15 to 90 mL of urine, and less than 5 grams of labels and seals. The labels contain social security numbers and names, which constitutes PII. This may add up to 280,000 total pounds of waste annually. The AFDTL is able to handle waste containers of 96 gallon capacity. These containers can hold a maximum of 500 lbs. of waste, but on average contain only 320 lbs. of waste upon collection. On site disposal and destruction of excess sample collection bottles is not feasible due to manpower requirements and facility limitations. The AFDTL requires services for this waste and PII disposal. |
