Fiber Reinforced Microsurfacing

Micro surfacing shall consist of a mixture of polymer-modified emulsified asphalt, mineral aggregate, water, and additives, proportioned, mixed and uniformly spread over a properly prepared surface as directed by the County. Micro surfacing should be capable of performing in variable thickness cross-sections such as ruts, scratch courses and milled surfaces. After curing and initial traffic consolidation, it should resist further compaction. The micro surfacing shall be applied as a homogeneous mat, adhere firmly to the prepared surface, and have a skid-resistant texture throughout its service life. The price shall include the material cost and the cost to furnish, haul, deliver, and apply the material; including all required distribution equipment as needed, the placement of electronic message boards (5 days prior to commencement of work) and construction signage, traffic control, and any associated mobilization costs. Additionally, the price shall include temporary and permanent pavement markings
