Description

Project is to replace an existing pad-mounted medium voltage transformer, switchboard, and generator that feed the McEniry building, McMillian Greenhouse, and Storage Building. The new equipment will be set and made operational, the loads will be moved over one by one, and then the existing equipment will be demolished to limit downtime. The project is divided into multiple phases and outages will be closely coordinated with the University. The scope of the project is primarily exterior work and someof the work will require subcontractors. The equipment to be demolished includes a boiler and associatedbuilding, a generator and associated building, a portion of retaining wall and dirt, a standalone generator, a pad-mounted medium voltage transformer, a switchboard, panelboards, automatic transfer switches, and various feeders, boxes, and circuitry. The new equipment includes a pad-mounted Medium voltage switchboard, an exterior switchboard, a generator, a generator docking station, automatic transfer switches, panelboards, concrete-encased duct banks, handholes, a retaining wall, and various feeders, boxes and circuitry. Additionally, electrical and plumbing support for a separate project is in the scope of this project, and the work in this project will need to be coordinated with that project. The scope of the other project includes replacing an existing chiller in place with new and replacing two (2) existing VFD’s cooling tower fans in place with new.
