Description | **As of December 05,2022 this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on next week.** Sealed proposals addressed to Walker County for the Walker County Special Utility District, will be received for furnishing all necessary materials, equipment, superintendence, and labor for the construction of the FM 1791 Water System Improvements. Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: Furnishing and installation of approximately 8,477 linear feet of six inch water line, and associated tie-ins, bores, connections, services, and appurtenances on FM 1791 from approximately Crooks Lane to Walker Loop, and additive bids for approximately 3,660 linear feet of six inch water line and associated tie-ins, bores, service connections, and related appurtenances from Walker Loop to FM 3179 and on FM 3179 to approximately Pool Road. Each bidder shall furnish a bid guarantee equivalent to five percent of the bid price. If a bid bond is provided, the contractor shall utilize a surety company which is authorized to do business in Texas in accordance with Art. 7.19-1. Bond of Surety Company, Chapter 7 of the Insurance Code. The project to be constructed will be financed with assistance from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and is subject to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Department of Labor and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin. Adherence to the grant recipient's Section 3 Policy is required for contracts and subcontracts. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project. Minority Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises, and Women Business Enterprises, and Historically Underutilized Business firms are encouraged to submit bids Walker County reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by Walker County for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. Complete sets of Bidding Documents shall be used in preparing Bids; neither Owner nor Engineer assumes any responsibility for errors or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete sets of Bidding Documents. Owner and Engineer, in making copies of Bidding Documents available on the above terms, do so only for the purpose of obtaining Bids for the Work and do not confer a license or grant for any other use. |
