2020 Alley and Parking Lots Maintenance

Removal and replacement of 1 Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) alley, the Villa-Spring Alley (PCC), running east-west from Villa Street to Spring Street, on the block between East Chicago Street and DuPage Street, and 1 Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) driveway, the Fire Station #1 Driveway (PCC). The work consists of furnishing all labor, material, and equipment necessary for the completion of pavement removal, aggregate base preparation, Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) paving, matching existing access points, sanitary and storm manhole adjustments/construction, utility pole protection, patching in various locations, restoration. This project shall also consist of milling and resurfacing of 4 Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) parking lots and 2 Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) alleys. The parking lots are the Geneva Street Parking Lot (HMA), accessed from east of Geneva Street, on the block between DuPage Street and Fulton Street, the Highland Avenue Parking Lot (HMA), accessed from the south side of Highland Aenue, on the block between Center Street and Geneva Street, the Division Street Parking Lot (HMA), accessed from the north side of Highland Avenue and the south side of Division street, on the block between Center Street and Geneva Street, and the Fire Station #1 Parking Lots (HMA) and Driveway (PCC), located at 550 Summit Street, Elgin, IL. the alleys are the Division Street Alley (HMA), running north-south fro from Division Street to North Street, on the block between Hinsdell Place and Channing Street, and the Lovell Street Alley (HMA), running north-south from Jefferson Avenue to Lincoln Avenue. Pavement removal, aggregate base preparation, Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) paving, matching existing access points, storm manhole adjustments/construction, utility pole protection, and patching in various locations. Improvements may also include combination concrete curb and gutter removal/replacement, sidewalk removal/replacement, driveway apron removal/replacement, pavement markings, restoration. Other work items included in this project include the construction of high capacity storm inlets. One is to be installed at 392 Lincoln Avenue, and the other at the Southwest Corner of the Preston Avenue and copper Avenue intersection.
