Description

ne Monument Square in Troy has been the target of five different development proposals over the past decade. The first four all failed to receive approvals, community support or full financing. So far, take five has gone better. The six-story mixed-use development has been granted site plan approval and site work has been done. Plans include 92 apartments, nearly 20,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor, two underground parking decks and a public plaza overlooking the Hudson River. The latest challenge facing the project is one facing many projects at the moment: Delays and higher costs for building supplies as well as rising costs for labor. As of November 17, 2022, a developer has been selected. Land acquisition is underway. The developer if in the process of working through design. Architects have been selected. There is no timeline yet for when a general contractor will be selected and there is no timeline for construction.
