Description | The City of Jackson will receive sealed bids for Paint the Exterior Building at Westwood. The City reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids/proposals. The City of Jackson is an Equal Opportunity Title VI employer. Deliver Product/Service to: 3 Westwood Gardens Dr General Specifications for Exterior Painting 1. Exterior surfaces shall be pressure washed @ 3000 psi to insure removal ofmold, mildew, or any other foreign material. Where needed other additional approved means, as may be necessary, shall be used to insure removal of all or any other foreign material. Scraping and cleaning any other areas as needed. 2. Metal Surfaces: All metal surfaces shall be properly cleaned prior to application offinishing products by sanding, water blasting, etc. and prepared for final finishes by applying the appropriate primer for the type of metal. Prime rust or other corrosion and bare metal. If there is rust, apply a rust inhibitive metal primer after preparing the surface, covering the entire area. Direct-to metal (DTM) paint products may be used for different metals, following manufacturer's specifications. 3. Exterior painting shall not be done while surfaces are damp, wet, or frosted. Temperature must be above 40 degrees F. 4. Successful bidder shall supply a 24"x24" sample of each type of color paint for approval before any paint is applied. This sample shall be applied at the job site in an area as permitted by building director. The attached specifications are written merely as a guideline with desired features and not to favor any specific brand or manufacturer. 5. Contractors shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary for a complete painting job. 6. It shall be the responsibility ofthe contractor to provide approved storage for materials and equipment at a location approved by the building director. No paint, materials or equipment shall be stored inside the buildings. 7. All staging, scaffolds, ladders, etc. shall be maintained at all times in a manner to meet OSHA Safety Requirements and not hazard to City of Jackson personnel. Adequate exits from all buildings shall be maintained in all areas to meet Fire Marshal's regulations. 8. Paint (2 Coats) Community Center: trim, brick, all exterior doors, ceilings, flag pole, front walkway, gas pipes, breezeway roof and underneath, all metal above brick, lettering on the front of building. 9. Paint (2 Coats) Pool Area: pool house, pool house doors, pool house roof, fence around pool, specified conduits and platform poles in pool area, 2 shed roofs and trim 10. Paint (2 Coats) Tennis Building: all exterior doors, 4 roll up doors and trim, gutters/trim around tennis building, sign on the front of tennis building, fan vents, front and back on the tennis building 11. All non-painted areas, such as shrubs, floors, glass, etc. shall be protected. Upon completion of work, the contractor shall remove all splattering and remove all paint-related rubbish from premises. The paint contractor shall be held responsible for any related damages. |
