Description

The University is entering into a Two-Step Bidding Process for Construction services. A short-listing of contractors will be based on the selection criteria outlined herein. Short-listed contractors will be invited to submit bids. 22549 Park Financial Services Remodel - Remodel of approximately 9400 sf on Basement of the Student Services Building (suites 160, 170, and some of the adjacent IT space) for the Financial Services department. Complete interior demo to create an open concept floor plan with several flex spaces for a hybrid work environment. New courtyard and windows to bring natural light into the space. Upgrade of HVAC and lighting Q & A deadline: Nov 03, 2022 5:00:00 PM CDT Construction Budget: $2,010,000 The only contractors allowed to bid on Step-2 of this project will be contractors short-listed by the selection committee. Bid Bond Requirements (Required for Step-2 only) All contractors responding to this procurement process must comply with, and require all of their subcontractors to comply with, the license laws required by the State of Utah. The short-listing requirements and the schedule were prepared by The University of Utah U Facilities and Studio Long Playing PLLC , hereinafter referred to as A/E as defined in the GENERAL CONDITIONS. The Universitys standard RFP has been substantially modified. Please read this RFP very closely. The University of Utah reserves the right to reject any or all submittals or to waive any formality or technicality in any submittal in the interest of the University. 1. SITE: REMOVE EARTH FROM PLAZA ABOVE TO CREATE A SUNKEN AREA FOR ADDED DAYLIGHT AND VIEWS TO NATURE. 2. REMODEL +/- 10,000 SF FOR OFFICE FUNCTIONS. 3. ADD WINDOWS AS SHOWN FOR ADDED DAYLIGHT AND VIEWS. 1. REMOVE EXISTING VESTIBULE AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. 2. REMOVE CONCESSION AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. 3. ADD NEW VESTIBULE PER DRAWINGS. 4. COORDINATE WITH FINANCIAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT Construction Budget: $2,010,000 22590 Park Building Plaza Repair - Removal of existing vestibule and concession structure. Construct new vestibule. Demo part of cement wall behind the concessions. Alternate 1 is a structural upgrade of the columns on the basement level. Note that architectural, electrical, mechanical, finishes will be completed as part of the Financial Services Remodel project. Demo of vestibule and wood screen walls as shown. New vestibule, railings and structural upgrades to 2 columns in level below vestibule. *Notification Description: To All Subcontractors I have uploaded site photos to the bid documents. Please note the following descriptions: There is a fire riser showing in the reception 159B that will need to be relocated closer to the east side wall. There are also some HVAC ducts that may need to be relocated in that same room. The columns leading from the entry 159 to the vestibule 159C, are to remain the same thickness, but to be structurally sound. Majority of the demo work has been completed, as you can see from the pictures. There will need to be some demo work in the floors with the conduits. We will need to patch any concrete to match existing. There is a white pipe found just inside of the Corridor 170 that will need to be moved up and out of the way. All the flooring and equipment from the IT space will be taken care of by the University. We will need to take care of the FM 200 equipment. HVAC in the finance area will be above the ceiling tiles and exposed where there isn't ceiling tiles. *Addendum 1, 2 and 3 have been issued for this project.
