Description | This is a Request for Proposals ("RFP") for tree pruning and removal services as required by the City of San Bruno ("City") in accordance with the specifications, terms and conditions specified herein. The City anticipates awarding a contract for a period of four (4) years. The City is soliciting proposals from qualified tree care and maintenance firms ("proposers") for the award of a contract to provide the following services: 1. Annual pollarding of the sycamore and mulberry street trees in each year of the City's four-year tree pruning program. 2. Annual street tree structural/safety pruning in each year of the City's four-year street tree pruning program. 3. Parks, medians, and open space tree pruning, tree removal, and stump grinding, as needed. 4. Sidewalk repair program tree root pruning, tree removal, and stump grinding, as needed. 5. Emergency Services to respond for pruning or removing trees that present an imminent danger, as needed. Performance Bond - The successful proposer shall furnish a performance bond (Attachment D) for 100% of the contract amount during the contract term and issued by an admitted surety insurer authorized to conduct business in the State of California. The only bond acceptable to the City will be that which is included in this RFP. Contractor Inquiries - All questions or comments related to this process should be addressed, in writing, directly to the person listed below. Contact with other City employees during the proposal process is expressly prohibited without the City's prior consent. Proposers who directly contact City employees risk the City's rejection of their proposals from consideration. Contractor shall include a letter from a surety duly licensed to do business in the State of California, having a financial rating from A.M. Best Company of A-, VIII or better that the surety has agreed to provide Contractor with the required performance bond in accordance with the requirements set forth in the Contract Documents. Such performance bond shall be in the minimum penal sums provided therein. Contractor agrees that surety's issuance of the letter authorized City to verify with the surety that the surety, based upon the contract prices, will issue the required bonds under the conditions stated. Upon satisfactory completion of the services and acceptance by City, Contractor shall provide City with a maintenance and warranty bond valued at ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of compensation set forth in Section 3.ity, Contractor shall provide City with a maintenance and warranty bond valued at ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of compensation set forth in Section 3. |
