The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities Campus (UMN-TC) Office of Information Technology (OIT), as well as other UMN departments, have IT equipment installed in numerous telecom facilities, server rooms, and data centers across the entire campus to serve all departments within the University. Walter Library, located at 117 Pleasant St SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455, is one of such facilities that hosts approximately 3,486 SqFt, of the U of M Minnesota Supercomputing Institute (MSI). It is housed on the entire fifth floor and parts of the basement and fourth floor of Walter Library. The Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) systems for the MSI facility is located at the Basement room B40 of Walter library. During a recently concluded Engineering and Building systems study of the OIT Facilities, the following deficiencies were observed: 1. 2 UPSs located in Room S49 (EPS6000, 375KVA, and 500KVA) that supplies Room B40 are at the end of their useful life and will need to be replaced. 2. UPS located in room S42 (EPS6000, 375KVA) is also at the end of its useful life, and will need to be replaced including all the associated batteries for all UPSs The University requests the services of a Contractor to: 1.Replace the 3 Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS) systems that will provide power to the IT equipment. 2.Provide and install Computer Room Cooling Units (CRCU) and associated piping and connections. 3.Extend the Existing Fire Alarm System to new construction area and all its associated communication systems. 4.Assist Commissioning agent who will provide fully integrated commissioning. 5.Follow the Phasing Protocol that has been developed by the AE Team of Record as well as all the scope as designed in the Construction Documents Note: It will be important for the Contractor to adhere to the set Phasing protocol from old UPS to new UPS. Dunham and Associates is the Architect/Engineer of Record for the Project. The selected Respondent will perform the Work for a Contract Sum that shall be a fixed, lump sum that shall include all costs necessary to complete the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents, including Respondent's overhead and profit. The total construction budget for this Project is $1,677,000 (current dollars, no escalation). The University requires the Project to be substantially complete by no later than March 29, 2024. The Contractor may start with the external scope so as to complete that before Winter. Anticipated Authorization to Proceed September 28, 2023 Question Deadline 08/31/2023 at 12:00 PM CT
