Disinfection and hydrostatic testing shall be completed by the Contractor. Installation of minimum 14-inch and 20-inch steel casing, by trenchless construction, including fittings. Contractor shall make sure proposed water line with restrained joints and spacers has the needed clearance for installation inside the proposed steel casing. Connection of the new water lines to the existing water system by tapping sleeve and valves and wet connections. Installation of 8-inch and 12-inch gate valves. Contractor shall install valve extensions for valves deeper than 8 feet. Installation and connection of new long-side and short-side service leads, all diameters, from new water line to existing residential water meters using tapping saddle with stainless steel band, including Accurate Meter or Core and Main corporation valves and ball valve curb stops, or approved equal, with u-branches or standard compression fittings at the meter connection. Service lines for inch water meters shall be a single 1-inch service line with a 1-inch by inch u-branch for two meters or standard compression fitting for one meter. Service lines for water meters 1-inch and larger shall be a single line that matches meter size for each meter. No 90-degree curb stops will be allowed. It will be the Contractors responsibility to ensure that all residential meters are reconnected to the new water line. Installation and connection of new service leads, to match existing service lead diameter, from the new water line to the existing commercial water meters and irrigation water meters using stainless steel tapping saddle or sleeve including Accurate Meter or Core and Main corporation valves and ball valve curb stops, or approved equal. No 90-degree curb stops will be allowed. It will be the Contractors responsibility to ensure that all commercial and irrigation meters are reconnected to the new water line. Abandonment of existing water lines, all sizes, all depths, including cutting, draining, plugging, and grouting the existing water line as shown in the plans. Removing existing fire hydrant assemblies and plugging the old fire hydrant connection on the existing line. Existing fire hydrants that are removed are to be salvaged and returned to Champions MUD. Installation of air release and vacuum relief valve manhole. Site restoration of Champions Golf Club Property and Harris County Right of Way disturbed areas including replacing damaged sidewalks, ramps, driveways, pavement, turf, plants, shrubs, trees, irrigation lines, fences, and gates. Implementation, maintenance, and removal of traffic control plan, trench safety, and storm water pollution prevention plan best practices including inlet protection barriers. Reconnection of fire line service taps, to match existing diameter, from the existing lead to the new water line using tees or tapping sleeve and valves. It is the Contractors responsibility to ensure that all fire lines are reconnected to the new water line. After the fire line has been connected to the new water line, the Contractor will be required to have the buildings fire system tested to ensure the fire system is working properly.
